Transmission BitTorrent Client
Transmission BitTorrent Client Transmission is a free, open-source, and extremely lightweight BitTorrent client available for macOS, Windows, and Linux. This client is free from third-party bloatware, such as toolbars or annoying pop-up ads, providing users with a clean and intuitive interface. With Transmission, users can quickly download BitTorrent files from multiple peers on the Internet and upload their own files. Additionally, they have the option to assign priorities to individual torrents or specific files within torrents. The client is actively maintained and regularly updated to ensure compatibility with the latest technologies and security features. It supports the Magnet URI scheme and can automatically seed or share downloaded content. Transmission also offers features like automatic port-mapping using UPnP/NAT-PMP, peer caching, blocklists for bad peers, bandwidth limits dependent on the time of day (globally or per-torrent), and partial support for IPv6. Furthermore, Transmission includes a built-in web server, enabling users to control the client remotely via the web. It's worth noting that Transmission is the default BitTorrent client for many Unix and Linux distributions, including Ubuntu, Mint, Fedora, Puppy, Zenwalk, and the GNOME flavor of openSUSE. |
